Outgoing Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin is pushing for action in December on a plan to offer free, pornography-free wireless Internet service to all Americans, despite objections from the wireless industry and some consumer groups.
Free filtered internet? Sounds good. Free unfiltered internet? Even better. It seems to me that any effort to “filter” the internet will be met with resistance. It’ll also be pretty difficult.

The Blackberry Storm has arrived; RIM’s shot back at the super successful iPhone. Here’s a nice long in depth review. Nothing too surpassing in here. The iPhone seems to come out on top as far as GUI/touchscreen integration. The Blackberry has been well known for it’s superior texting and email capabilities however it seems the touchscreen doesn’t quite seem to mesh as well as it might. Going through the usual news sources today I ran across Engadgets teaser piece on the Epic digital video camera. Admittedly I don’t know much about video camera’s but this one seems sure to please. With a price tag around what it would cost for a new car I suppose it ought to though.
The exciting thing about this is while it is super expensive it’s still cheaper then the cameras used on the big budget hollywood movies without sacrificing much, if any, quality.

According to Professor Lee, as reported by Taiwan News, the new chip can be used to connect to all domestic audio-visual components like television, stereo, video recorder and transmit to TV screens anywhere in the home instantaneously. In airports and train stations, the SOC could download an entire movie to a cell phone in a couple of seconds and upload thousands of pictures from a digital camera to a computer in a blink of the eye.
This sounds great on it’s own. Sounds even better when you think of the possibility of this working with the newly available White Space.
